3.5 - "Nikki Norris, what have you done to me?" Stars.
Nikki Norris has had some pretty s*** luck of late, what with having her business partner up and disappear with the cash from their interior design customers, leaving her bankrupt. As well as her ex, having happily sucked all the life, confidence and colour out of her in the past five years, deciding he is bored and dumps her just months before their wedding.
Almost penniless and now homeless, she has no choice but to make a fresh new start.
Time to pull her life back together.
Troy Dallas, apparently from Manchester, England (being from the U.K this name, and the aforementioned location soooo Do Not gel, especially if you take into account his has a brother called, Cliff. Still it did give me a massive giggle so thumbs up too the author for that!)is your usual commitment-phobe type of chap, it turns out he has some pretty serious mommy issues, that prevent him from ever really getting serious about a girl. Tired of his hum-drum existence of photographing vapid models and clothing for fashion magazines he yearns to make more of am impact with his camera.
Then he meets his new neighbor, and he begins to see the world around him a little differently, the more time he and Nikki spend together.
She was in trouble.
Love thy Neighbor was an easy to read, sexy, warm romance. There is a thin line sometimes when a trope is being used, that it is pulled through the story for too long and overkill can happen, and it is very apparent that the low body confidence trope is the mainstay for the beginning of Nikki and Dallas's story. I think Sophie pretty much nailed it with the amount of relevance it had with regards to the impact it had on the relationship between them, but for me it went on a little too long in relation to Nikki's interactions with her ex.
That-said for the most part as a woman who struggles with her own body confidence issues, I got where Nikki was coming from, and I appreciated her internal thoughts and self-discovery as the story progressed more because of it. A really great addition to the Lovestruck range.
I really liked Nikki's Best friend Jenna as well, So I hope at some point the author will look to give her a story of her own as well.

Short and Sweet

This is the story of Nikki and Dallas. Nikki is a interior designer who is coming off a 5 year engagement. Her fiancé left her, because he claims she is to "boring". She has not only lost her fiancé, but also her business partner who did a runner by taking all their clients money with her.
Now Nikki is staring over in a new condo where the handsome Dallas a photographer just happens to be her neighbour. She is still in love with her ex fiancé, but she cant help but admire all that is Dallas.
Dallas photographs beautiful and sexy models all day long. Except he is tired of it. They are all just fake and phony and his heart is not in it. He wants to photograph more than just models. He wants to go to Antarctica and photograph the glaciers there. When he meets his sexy new neighbour, he cant help but be attracted to the curvy sexy brunette, who is like a breath of fresh air. Problem is he does not do relationships and she is still hung up on her ex.
When he agrees to attend a wedding with her, to help make the ex jealous all thoughts of not having a relationship and her ex go out the window for both of them.
This is a sweet, quirky little romance about falling in love.

I really enjoyed this book! Nikki is an interior designer who recently got dumped by her fiance. Her business partner ripped her off and she is completely starting over. She has confidence issues and is insecure. She moves to a new apartment and meets the sexy photographer across the hall. Dallas is a fashion photographer who is so hot he should be in front of the camera instead of behind it. He doesn't do relationships. Dallas has his own insecurities and isn't really happy with his current profession. Nikki and Dallas have immediate chemistry. This book is steamy hot! I loved how these characters meet and the friendship they develop. I was slightly annoyed with Nikki (especially any situation involving that dirt bag Matthew) and how insecure she could be at times but I get it. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, it was hot, sweet and romantic. I look forward to reading more by this author!
