Jenna Sims is a culinary student with a secret. About the Author
I retired from the U.S. Army in 2008, after a 23-year career. I worked at two other jobs after retirement, but was laid off at the end of 2011. It was then that I inventoried my skill set to figure out what I was good at and really enjoyed doing. Writing had always come easy to me and I enjoyed it, but serious writing was always on the ‘someday’ list. Someday came at the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012 when I figured out that writing is what I wanted to do. I started Echoes of Immortality in December 2011, and published it on September 25th, 2014. I also wrote a 100-page screenplay during Script Frenzy in April 2012, titled Echoes of Enchantment, which is the back-story for Echoes of Immortality, and will eventually be the second book in the series. Another day job found me in the spring of 2012, but I am plugging along and eventually plan to shed the daily grind in favor of the glamorous life of a full-time writer.

A great read for teens and adults!

Witches, culinary arts, and the great Pacific Northwest!. What's not to love about this book? It did start out a little slow for me and I thought it might be better suited to a teen audience, but as the story progressed, the characters became more developed and the plot unfolded, I found myself enjoying it more and more. The storyline is well thought out and the although there are a lot of "coincidental" meetings between the characters, their stories and lives do intertwine nicely. There are hints of Seattle and San Francisco throughout the book, but this is not a book about the background - it's a really good book about witches, family secrets and personal demons built around characters that you feel you know by the end of the book. I'm definitely looking forward to book two in the trilogy. A good read for adults and teens!

Loved this first book of The Echoes Trilogy...

I have had this book (with a number of others!) sitting on my desk for awhile. I decided to get started with my summer reading and Echoes of Immortality is the one I chose and I loved it! This is a fast but interesting read which draws you into a myriad of storylines, twists and turns about witches, spells, family, friendship and food! Who knew a concoction of such topics could keep one, well, spellbound! I loved the characters and the author did a wonderful job of creating visuals and scenarios that stick with you as you read this book. The setting is in the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco and these locations
play significantly into to overall feel of the story. I can't wait for books two and three of Kevin McDonald's Echoes Trilogy.

Entertaining Read

I found Echoes of Immortality to be a very entertaining and interesting read. Entertaining for the fact that the settings are Seattle and San Francisco that makes for fun and easy relating to if you've been there. The short chapters keep the story moving and makes for easy reading. The author did an excellent job of depicting each of the characters that gives a sense knowing each one of them. The book has a very interesting plot that keeps the attention and the curiosity going. Being this is the first of the trilogy I have to patiently and anxiously wait for the excitement and curiosity to continue. Kudos to the author!
