Working very well for us

This log book is working very well for my kids, ages 9 and 11.
We are just finishing up Vol. 1 Zoology.

Pros:
Follows the story, easy for the kids to find their places
Ample blank space on the pages for writing and drawing pictures
And my very favorite thing: it is a *true* log book for recording scientific data.

That means there are no cross word puzzles, word searches, mazes, cut and paste projects, word scrambles...
we have encountered journals/logbooks from other programs that are filled with these items, and my kids are
just not interested in doing them. My ds hated his journal from another program, but this one he loves.
I am so pleased about how he has taken off with it- writing detailed log entries and drawing sketches.
To me, that is what a log book is really about.

Cons:
Only one con- it was very hard for my kids to get their journals to lie flat. I wound up taking them to Staples and having them spiral bound. That made a huge difference and was well worth the cost. I wish both the teachers guide and the log books could be purchased spiral bound. I think for the next book I will buy the pdf file for the log book and print the pages- then we can put them in a notebook or have them bound, either way.

Homeschool fun

Bought this along with the Logbook and student reader, for my elementary age child. We homeschool, and this is a perfect, fun, exciting way to entice kids into learning science. My daughter has really enjoyed this book and can't wait to use the next one for 2nd semester.

Great addition to the book, or as a stand alone!

this is a great work book..its sturdy and well put together..with plenty of space for your own add ons. The pages have place to write about biomes, different animals from all over the world and other data your learn from the book. I can see this working as a jumping off point if someone wanted to put their own zoology unit together...but I would just grab the Sassafras twins book that goes with this and jump right in!! We are loving it!

His exemplars, he once explained, were "the great masters which flourished in that century of glorious memory when Raphael set the eternal and incontestable bounds of the sublime in art ... I am thus a conservator of good doctrine, and not an innovator." Nevertheless, modern opinion has tended to regard Ingres and the other Neoclassicists of his era as embodying the Romantic spirit of his time, while his expressive distortions of form and space make him an important precursor of modern art.

‘She was everything I wanted. Every imperfect part of her was perfect to me.’

I have read many books written by Natasha and I have never been disappointed in her writing. Considering SAVE ME as her first ever written story, I think she has done an excellent job. The writer has not just portrayed the protagonist’s life, but also the people around her, in this case, it is a girl named Tegan. She had a close relationship with her father, but she lost him while she was still in her teens. This leads her to take rash decisions. To forget about the world she chooses the path of sex and alcohol.

She has these one-night meaningless stands. One fine day Tegan meets a guy named, Kai. From moment Kai was introduced, I knew I was going to like this guy. He would seem like a badass guy with his body inked, but internally he is a sweetheart. Throughout the book, he has always been there for Tegan.

On the other hand, there is Lucas, Carl’s son, who has the heart of Tegan’s father. Tegan feels something deep while she is around Lucas. Unfortunately in the later chapters it is assumed as “love.”
The story is filled with raw emotions. It will take you on a roller-coaster ride of this love triangle. I feel extremely attached to this story. It is as if I can see everything happening right before my eyes. I am so glad that Natasha wrote this story. She is one of my favourite authors and by reading this story I have fallen more for her writings. Love you, Preston!

natasha preston does it again

I have read two other Natasha Preston books before they are Silence and Broken Silence and both where equally emotional and made you think deeply about the situations the characters are in. Save Me is no exception,from the very start you are literally catapulted into a deeply upsetting and emotional situation that no-one would ever wish to experience.The way the first couple of chapters are written are heart wrenching and suck you straight into the tale of Tegan, Lucas and Kai. I do not want to give you all the details as the blurb here is more than enough, but it will also ruin the story for you. The journey we take with Tegan is one of discovery and acceptance of life when it is outside of our control.
Tegan is a character that i loved reading and i felt like i really understood why she acted the way she did, even though it caused her to hurt others and herself, sometimes time and the right people are the only way to work through such emotional situations she has had to deal with. Lucas had the best intentions in the world but to me as a reader Kai may be the 'bad boy' and the path of mischief but he was the true hero of the story. I felt the despair Tegan was going through at the turning point in the story concerning her recovery and i loved the final few chapters as we see who she has become and her life now. This book was a great book to review and at times i did feel like i had been through the emotional ringer but all for a reason and it stayed with you long after you shut the book for the night, or in my case in the car before i go and start work for the day. I longed to get back to it each night after work and continue reading the story. Natasha Preston is a writer who throws all the emotions you can think of into a book from hurt,love,sadness,despair and romance, she can also write some extremely hot scenes as well as the tender moments between the characters especially Kai and Tegan.Hearst and flowers this story is not, but it is so tender and raw that you will most certainly enjoy the story i feel.

I don't think I can even finish this book! VERY disappointed. I read Natasha's Silence series and liked it but this was just so ridiculous.
Tegan - I get this girl is devastated by the loss of her father but to be a drunk and jump from bed to bed is a bit much. Not to mention she tells Lucas she loves him after only a couple of days but yet continues to party and pass out with the last guy she was sleeping with is ridiculous!
Lucas - Grow a spine!!! You tell a girl that you barely know that you love her after a couple of days but yet say nothing when she's out getting drunk and passes out with the last guy she was sleeping with? And she comes home in his shirt? Yeah, that's saying you care.
Don't even get me started on Tegan's mother. Who allows their 17 year old daughter to continue this behavior and says nothing?
I couldn't even figure out when one day ended and another one began. It was just all over the place. I'd return it if I could. Sad to say it wasn't even worth the $2.99 I paid.

It's been so long since we've heard from Jane True and to see her happily wed, deep in shenanigans AND from Anyan's point of view was a real treat.
Peeler could probably write parking tickets and they'd make me laugh my ass off. She really knows how to capture genuine feeling in a world of magic, romance and hilarity,

True meets Clue in this Who-Done-It comedy starring Jane and Anyan

Away from their twins for the first time, Jane and Anyan plan a romantic weekend in a boutique hotel. But events conspire to keep them from getting down to business, starting with their room not being ready when they arrive. Then there's the naked dead man in their bed. Jane sets out to discover how he died and how he wound up in their room, while Anyan's on a mission involving beds and nakedness of a different sort.

The story is told from Anyan's point of view, which I enjoyed. I was surprised by how modern he sounded in some spots, but he's also very much a typical guy. It's nice to see him happy with Jane after all the trauma of their last book. The story is kind of silly, but it's a lot of fun. I hope that Peeler does more of these stories, maybe bringing in some of the other characters from the series.

Her stories are fun flights of fancy

Oh, let's talk about the guilty pleasures that are the Jane True stories.

First off, Nicole Peeler is the sort of author that doesn't take herself too seriously--and it shows. Her stories are fun flights of fancy, lust, and magical creatures that you can easily spend an afternoon being sucked in to. A glass of wine, one of her novels, and a rainy day are recipes for relaxation.

Anyways.

I was pretty excited to get my mitts on the latest installment in her Janeiverse which, unfortunately, was released on midnight before work and a final the next day, but whatever. I stayed up far too late to get a head start on the novelette, then spent lunch finishing it up. And it was worth it.

This is a story told through the eyes of Jane's delicious husband as he whisks her way for sexy times, and they subsequently get into a whole heap of misadventures and end up being the daring-do couple they are. I loved it. I loved it, because it made me laugh, because the pseudo-sex scenes are steamy in all the right places, and her dialogue is easy to read without making me ponder the meaning of life.

And unlike the absolute GLUT of paranormal mystery romance novels parading about in the over-saturated market, I like Peeler's work. Again, she doesn't take it too seriously, the characters are easy to relate to, and they're just . .well, fun. I like fun, and you will to.

I use to not like getting up in front of people and giving speeches, but now after being part of Rock the Talk and reading Mrs. Potter's book, I can feel confident in myself to give speeches.

Fiona teaches us to be fearless speakers through fun activities!

Wow! I never thought public speaking could be this much fun! I have learned that anybody can Rock the Talk if they are passionate and are willing to practice. Fiona helps kids dive into public speaking with enthusiasm. She reminds us that learning to communicate well is a life skill. As parents we tend to focus on academics, sports & other activities such as music & dance. We forget the importance of drawing in an audience.

With texting, Snapchat & Instagram, we know that our kids truly need to enhance their communication skills! Fiona reminds us that compelling, confident public speaking is a crucial skill that is often overlooked and under-developed in a child's formative years, yet it can strongly impact how children view themselves and how they develop and succeed in school.

The encouraging news is that even the shyest, most introverted kids can overcome their inhibitions and evolve into confident, credible public speakers that can Rock the Talk!

Building Self Confidence in our Youth

What an amazing book to help develop public speaking skills. Wish this had been available when I was younger. I bought this for my grandchildren to help them develop this ability. It builds self confidence and self esteem without these skills I would not have been successful in my business. It is my gift to them. This should be a mandatory program in elementary and high schools . Thank you Ms. Potter for developing this program and for writing this Book. You indeed "Rock". Christine Lamothe

A Gripping start to a compelling series.

I’ve been looking forward to finding enough time to read A Sad Jar of Atoms ever since I first heard Monica Enderle Pierce had released a prequel story to her outstanding debut sci-fi novel, Girl Under Glass, part of her Glass and Iron series. I’m very pleased to report that A Sad Jar of Atoms didn’t disappoint me. The short story does a wonderful job of explaining how Rachel became so ostracized and harbored so much resentment for the people who inhabited Suffer. A Sad Jar of Atoms also does a wonderful job of showing just how level headed and determined Rachel was, even during her lowest points.
As is her style, Monica Enderle Pierce gave her story a Western flair that fans of the old television show, Firefly, will enjoy. It’s an angsty story that will have you falling in love with Rachel and the sci-fi genre all over again.
